Fox’s Lone Star, which debuted Monday night, was on just about every critic’s best of the season list, but, despite the praise, no one seemed to tune in.
The series premiere drew only 4.1 million viewers which was much lower than expected. The show lost more than half of its lead-in viewers from House, which had 10.7 million viewers, and in the coveted 18-49 demographic, Lone Star drew only 1.3 rating.
The show was up against some tough competition though. In the same time period, NBC debuted their much talked about series, The Event, (which garnered 10.9 million viewers), and ABC also premiered the new season of Dancing of with the Stars (which brought in 21.3. million viewers).
According to NY Magazine, even though the ratings for Lone Star were disappointing, Fox has not given up on the series.
