“Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon has been tapped to host the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards which will air live on NBC, August 29 at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.
Reportedly, Fallon won out over fellow “SNL”-alum Amy Poehler, who also stars on an NBC series, “Parks and Recreation.” It was also rumored that Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake were in the running, thanks to their “SNL” success.
This will be Fallon’s fourth big hosting gig. The 35-year-old comedian, also hosted the 2001 and 2005 MTV Movie Awards and the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards.
