Its natural to compare the upcoming FOX series “Running Wilde” to “Arrested Development,” but they’re actually nothing alike.
The sitcom stars Will Arnett and was created by Arnett, “Arrested Development” creator Mitch Hurwitz and writer Jim Vallely. The show revolves around Steven Wilde (Arnett), a spoiled playboy who has it all except the love of his childhood sweetheart Emmy Kadubic (Keri Russell), who’s as liberal, eco-friendly and humanitarian as they come. His complete opposite. The series also co-stars Peter Serafinowicz and David Cross.
“It’s different, there’s a burden association with ‘Arrested Development’ that’s a high class problem to have,” Hurwitz has said, adding, “We’re glad to be working and doing something that appeals to a wider audience …[and once we achieve that] more and more of our subversion will be able to come out.”
