A former employee of Oprah Winfrey’s soon-to-be-launched cable channel is suing the network for workplace discrimination.
Catherine Dunn filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles on Friday claiming that OWN (the Oprah Winfrey Network) created a “hostile work environment” for her when she worked there in fall 2008.
Dunn claims she was subject to discrimination because of her Multiple Sclerosis. The suit alleges that the stress of her work environment aggravated her condition which forced her to take a leave of absence from the job.
While Dunn was on leave, she says OWN replaced her with a “non-disabled and younger employee.”
