It’s not all kids stuff at Nickelodeon. It’s big business for the long-running children’s, tweens, teens and sitcom-lovers network. The cable channel broke two of its ratings records with the debut of Big Time Rush along with a new episode of their tween show iCarly earlier this week.
Big Time Rush became the highest-rated and most-watched live-action premiere ever for the channel with a 6.8 million audience rating with kids. iCarly nabbed the show’s most-watched airing ever with kids in the 2-11 (two-year-olds are part of demographic?), tweens 9-14 and total viewers with 11.2 million. This beats the last record held by iCarly, which scored 8.9 million viewers. By comparison, CBS’ How I Met Your Mother won the timeslot for broadcast networks Monday with 10.5 million viewers.
