Just two days after its season four finale aired, TBS has canceled the original sitcom My Boys.
The series, starring Jordana Spiro, was one of TBS’ first original comedy series when it debuted in 2006. Though the series did develop a loyal following over the years (including yours truly) it was never able to garner mainstream success. The show’s final two episodes attracted an average of only 879,000 and 689,000 total viewers, respectively, which apparently wasn’t enough for the cable network to justify a renewal.
Spiro and co-star Kyle Howard are probably the most upset about the news since they had lined-up other projects for the 2010-2011 TV season but were forced to exit those series due to their obligations to TBS.
