Alyssa Milano is back in prime time tonight as newly divorced Rebecca in ABC’s Romantically Challenged. The sitcom focuses on a group of friends trying to find love while navigating the world of first dates, new relationships, and one-night stands. Something which Milano, 37, she has lots of experience with.
In the show, Milano’s character is a recently divorced single mother of a 16-year-old son. She married her high school sweetheart, who she’s trying to get over, and never really dating, so she’s not very good at it.
And even though Milano is a newleywed, she says she can still relate to teh awkward situations her character gets into while dating. “I’ve had many more years of the awkward dating situation than the marriage,” she said. Adding, “I have a good 15 years to tap into. I’m equally as geeky [as my character]. I was never good at dating. I would rather be anywhere in the world than on a first date. I avoided dating like you would not believe.”
