Mad Men fans with AT&T U-verse may miss out on the next season, along with all of the other programing offered by AMC, IFC and WEtv. The cable provider’s 2.3 million subscribers were told Friday that company will likely drop the Rainbow Media-owned networks on July 14. Bad timing for fans of Mad Men since the show returns on July 25.
Rainbow Media has been negotiating to renew its carriage deal with AT&T since the beginning of the year. The original contract expired on July 1 but both sides agreed to a two-week extension. AT&T said Friday that the two companies remained at “an impasse.”
The consumer alert from AT&T stated: “We want fair prices and to reach a good deal for you, but may be forced to remove these channels due to their unreasonable demands.”
