Comedy Central and Cartoon Network are adding some peculiar programming to their roster. Cartoon Network, which is known for more animated fare, will be adding two new live-action shows to its lineup while Comedy Central will collaborate with satirical news giant, The Onion, for a 30-minute scripted program.
Tower Prep and History will be Cartoon Network’s first live-action scripted pilots. History centers on a “skilled and worldly high school student who gets wrapped up in mysteries at a national museum with his smooth-talking cousin.” The show is created by Mark Web and features the voices of Kevin G. Schmidt and Jordan Gavaris. Tower Prep is an action thriller featuring a “rebellious teenager trapped in a strange prep school for children with unique potential.” Batman: The Animated Series producer Paul Dini is overseeing the project, which features the voice of Drew Van Acker.
