After only one episode of the second seasons of “Nurse Jackie” and “United States of Tara,” ShowTime has picked up both shows for third seasons.
The network announced the pick ups today, just three days after “Jackie” and “Tara” had their season premieres.
The two shows got off to a good start on Monday. “Nurse Jackie” drew 1.1 million viewers in its 10 p.m. debut and added 400,000 more with an encore later in the night, that was a 13% increase over its premiere last year.
“Tara” brought in 816,000 viewers for its 10:30 p.m. showing and a cumulative 1.2 million including its encore showing.
