Normally I wouldn’t think twice about writing a review about something so well known as the Video Professor line of instructional DVDs, but while doing a little research, I found that in 2007 Video Professor, Inc unsuccessfully sued over one hundred posters of critical reviews. That being said. I am about to launch into a somewhat critical review.

The first stop I took was to go to the website for Video professor. The site is designed to get you to sign up, not to inform you about any product you might be interested in. The link for the course list is on the bottom of the page, and it’s small. Almost an afterthought

My goal once I got to the course list was to determine if anything they offer needs to be taught. I am sad to say that what I found was disappointing. None of the software they offer courses for need a tutorial. In fact, most of them come with a tutorial, and one that is easy to use. I cannot imagine spending nearly two hundred dollars for two courses after spending the money on the software in the first place. Once you get into the courses, they are essentially walkthroughs. Not only this, but they are not horribly in-depth. I really couldn’t write much about the courses, except to say, I suggest you don’t buy it. You don’t need them. If you are capable of using the programs and technology they are trying to teach, you are capable of getting that information from either a tutorial or an instruction manual. None of this will put you out two hundred dollars.

To add insult to injury, you can go and read the “Executive Biography of John Scherer”. I normally don’t like to pick on people, but this guy could not possibly be more full of himself. 

I hate to say it, but this is a scam. Anything that talks up the “free” angle, then charges your credit card automatically is a scam, plain and simple. The Continuity sales model has, for the most part, shown itself to be the avenue of the greedy and unethical. I just can’t in good conscience say anything nice about the product or the company.
