Season 13 of “The Bachelor” brings back Jason Mesnick as the bachelor, after he was dumped by DeAnna Pappas for professional snowboarder Jesse Csincsak on the season finale of “The Bachelorette 4.” Pappas and Csincsak have since split but Mesmick says he has found love and is engaged to the winner of “The Bachelor 13.” Mesnick told People Magazine that an outpouring of support from fans and family helped convince him to try to find love in front of the cameras again.

Jason, a 31-year-old account executive in estate and legacy planning and a father to 3-year-old Ty, became a fan favorite on “The Bachelorette.” His story of a single father raising a son on his own in Seattle moved fans who emailed him messages of support after he was left heartbroken by DeAnna. Jason became the bachelor in hopes of finding a woman with a curiousity about the world and a passion for life. According to what he is saying now, he did found her.

“The Bachelor 13” brings together 25 women vying for a chance to date and possibly marry Jason. For the first time in Bachelor history four of the women- Megan, Stacia, Stephanie and Treasure- are all single mothers hoping that Jason and Ty will complete their families. The group of bachelorettes also includes, Raquel, a 27-year-old medical student from Brazil, Sharon, a 32-year-old teacher from Batavia, NY, Renee, a 36-year-old jewelry designer from Los Angeles, CA, Molly, a 24-year-old department store buyer from Grand Rapids, MI, and Nikki, a 29-year-old administrative assistant from Blue Island, IL.

These women have come from around the country to compete in weekly competitions and fight for a chance at love with this latest bachelor. Each week, Jason will give the women he felt the biggest connection with a rose and ask them to stay. The woman who does not receive a rose at the end of the week will be asked to leave, missing her opportunity to create a life with Jason. Of course, this season is sure to provide a dose of drama and tension among the ladies as they live together and compete for Jason. But what would “The Bachelor” be with out a catfight or two?

“The Bachelor” premieres January 5th at 8 p.m. on ABC.
