I’ve seen plenty of previews for the upcoming debut of NBC’s new drama, “Kings,” but always found myself asking more questions as to how the show worked rather than genuine interest. It looked like some guy with absolute power and a kid pulled into the mess by accident or fate, and his experience “inside” the ruling class, but the whole concept seemed “meh” when I watched the trailers. It appears that some viewers agreed with this sentiment as well.

According to Nielsen’s estimates, the new show had a pretty rough start out, and it started bleeding viewers starting in the first half hour of the show right up until the last, pulling in about 6 million viewers from 8 to 10 pm. That’s not exactly stellar numbers for a show just getting started, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this one pulled off the shelves int he very near future.

So who took the crown for the most watched network that night? CBS stepped up to the plate with 60 minutes when they interviewed Ben Bernanke, the Federal Reserve Chairman. Who knew there was so much interest in the economy…right? It also had a pretty solid lineup later on with Cold Case, The Unit, and Brothers & Sisters.
