ABC’s new show Modern Family premiered on September 23rd and airs on Wednesdays at 9/8 pm. The half hour show features storylines that intertwine three different families–Jay Pritchett, played by Ed O’Neill (best known from Married with Children), is married to a much younger woman, Jay’s daughter Claire Dunphy, played by Julie Bowen, who is a traditional stay at home mom, and Jay’s gay son Mitchell Pritchett who has adopted an Asian baby with his boyfriend. Modern Family is what the title describes, a typical modern day dysfunctional family. Everyone has the awkward family functions, the macabre interactions, and normal fighting. After Modern Family tested highly in focus groups, ABC quickly fast-tracked the show, picking it up for an entire season.
While the show started in late September, the first three episodes of the series are still uploaded online.
