The 2009 MLB postseason is taking shape quickly, especially with three sweeps in the Division Series. Television coverage of the World Series will be provided by Fox. Unfortunately for online users, there’s only one way to watch the 2009 World Series online. MLB has recently instituted its Postseason.TV venture, allowing online users to control what they watch during games. Subscribers to Postseason.TV can choose to watch one of the available camera angles or up to four different angles at once, called Quad Mode. The interface is simple to use since all a user does is drag-and-drop which camera angles they want. Postseason.TV can be accessed from MLB.com, FoxSports.com, and MLB.com/TBSHotCorner.
Along with watching live games on Fox, you can also stream companion coverage on your laptop that isn’t available through your television. MLB calls it their Postseason.tv coverage, where you can watch up to four alternate camera angles at once (Quad Mode), as well as choose from eight different camera angles. You get real-time highlights as well as Twitter integration. It costs $9.95 for all of the 2009 postseason.
MLB is also making Postseason.TV portable for those with iPhones and iPod Touches. MLB calls it At Bat 2009, and also includes Quad Mode as well as the ability to view just one angle. You can download the application at the iTunes store for $9.99.
