As I mentioned on Monday, NBC has picked up a new comedy, Community, starring Joel McHale and Chevy Chase which will debut this fall. Keeping with NBC’s tradition of sitcoms about lovable losers, Community features a group of awkward adults trying to survive their return to college. Critics are cautiously optimistic acknowledging the fact that show does seems smart and may actually be funny.

The bad news (well for me anyway) is that the addition of Communityand the official renewal of Parks and Recreation seem to be the final nail int he coffin for Kath and Kim. Though there has been no announcement from NBC, the show is noticeably absent from the network’s fall schedule along with Life which was cancelled this week.

There is good news for fans of The Soup though. McHale will continue hosting that show while shooting Community. Move over Ryan Seacrest, we may have a new candidate for the title of “Hardest Working Man” in Hollywood.
