In a strange twist to game shows, MTV is trying to keep up and keep the viewers entertained. Which is why they must have came up with the idea for the show “The Phone”. 

In each episode of this game show, the contestants are placed in a situation that simulates what it would be like to be dropped into the middle of an adventure movie. Four strangers receive a phone call inviting them to participate. They have the opportunity to say yes or no, and if they say yes, they’re immediately thrust into a high-stakes game of suspense and intrigue with the chance to win up to $50,000.

The game requires these strangers to first work in pairs. The contestants are instructed to follow the directions of the director, in an almost movie-like script. Of course, they are directed by this mysterious voice on the phone, and as a series of mental and physical challenges test their loyalty and courage, a surprise and shocking end-game twist reveals their true nature.

At the end of the game, the winning couple then faces off against one another. The interesting twist of it all is that the person who wins in the duo has the  opportunity to split the winnings with their partner, or be greedy and take it all for themselves.
