Upright Citizens Brigade alums Nasim Pedrad and Jenny Slate will be joining “Saturday Night Live” for its 35th season. Pedred and Slate will balance out the cast of 15, one of the largest casts in the show’s history, bringing the number of women up to 6.

Slate is well known in the New York City comedy scene and has been featured as a commentator on several VH1 shows. Pedred performed her one woman show, “Me, Myself & Iraq”, at the HBO Comedy Fest in 2007 but is best known for playing a nurse on “ER”.

“Saturday Night Live” begins its new season on Sept. 26 with host Megan Fox and musical guest U2.
