A new movie about one of America’s most notorious doctors is filling out an equally famous cast. Susan Sarandon and John Goodman have recently joined Al Pacino in an HBO movie about Dr. Jack Kevorkian.
The movie, titled “You Don’t Know Jack,” will follow Kevorkian’s rise to fame as an assisted-suicide advocate and the numerous legal battles over the procedure, including his 1999 conviction for second-degree murder for helping a terminally ill patient kill himself.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sarandon will play Janet Good, a Hemlock Society activist and ally of Kevorkian’s. After she was diagnosed with terminal cancer Good asked Kevorkian to help her end her life. While Goodman will play one of Kevorkian’s colleagues, Neal Nicol. The movie is based on the book “Between the Dying and the Dead,” which Nicol co-wrote with Harry Wylie.
