Samantha Harris, who has been a longtime co-host of “Dancing with the Stars”, is leaving the show.

Harris, 36, will not be returning for the series’ 10th season, which begins March 22, so she can focus on her other on-air roles. Harris also works as a correspondent for “The Insider” and “Entertainment Tonight”.

“I’ve loved every aspect of my time at Dancing With the Stars,” Harris said in a statement. “I’ve lived and breathed this incredible show for the last eight seasons, making lifelong friends along the way. It has given me so many wonderful opportunities.”

Her co-host, Tom Bergeron, said he’ll miss her but hopes she’ll come back to the show in another capacity. “I’ve been known to try to twist arms behind the scenes,” he said. “I’m hoping this frees her up for us to have her as a contestant.”

“Dancing With The Stars” executive producer Conrad Green wished Harris luck saying, “She’s done an incredible job. Some of the most memorable moments on the show have been facilitated by Samantha. I think we’ll all walk away with enormous happy memories of working with one another.”

Green also told People Magazine they are currently searching for Harris’ replacement. One possibility is Paula Abdul, who, according to TMZ, has been offered a lucrative development deal with ABC if she agrees to appear on “Dancing” this coming season. At this point, Abdul’s rep is not confirming the story.
