If your a Netflix subscriber who uses the Roku to stream movies to your TV you may have received a bit of a Christmas present from Netflix over the Holidays. Netflix has been quietly rolling out hundreds of HD titles available to stream to your television via your Roku player. Although this service is not available for all customers just yet, it will be over the next few weeks.

Apparently if you can’t view the HD selections on your Roku yet, there is way to force your Roku to show them. Just manually check for an update 3 times within 30 seconds and you should then receive the update that allows you to view all of the new HD goodies.

Netflix is also partnering with Amazon and making over 40,000 movies available to purchase or rent from Amazon on the Roku. I have a feeling Netflix subscribers are in for a great 2009!
