Well, I guess I should have really titled this post how to “Save” YouTube videos..but you get the point. I recently ran across some great software called Video Piggy that lets you download and save any YouTube video.

Video Piggy does a lot of awesome things. First off, it allows you to download and save YouTube videos with a click of a mouse. You can save these videos to your computer or to your iPod, PSP, etc but I’ll get to that in a little bit. While searching for the best way to download and save YouTube videos I ran across a lot of different methods, however most of them were complicated or just flat out annoying. When I ran across Video Piggy it looked pretty promising and after giving it a full run, I can say that it lived up to my expectations.

Sometimes I see a video on YouTube that I want to download but I just want the audio. Video Piggy allows you to extract the audio from any YouTube video and save it as an MP3 file so you can listen to it on iTunes, Winamp or even your MP3 Player. This feature is amazingly useful especially if you find a music video you like, but just want the music.

I own a PSP and an iPhone and both of these devices only play certain video formats. Video Piggy can convert YouTube videos you download into formats that will work on your PSP, iPhone and other devices as well. This is great because in the past I had to have separate software for each device I wanted to convert videos to work on.
