First, Oprah broke our hearts by announcing she was ending her show in 2011, now, she isn’t doing a “Favorite Things” episode either. How can you be so cruel, Lady O?

According The Huffington Post, the popular, annual episode has been canceled for 2009. Every year Oprah would share her new favorite things, which ranged from appliances to clothing. Most items were things no one but O could ever afford but it was always fun to watch anyway. The episode was an audience favorite too since each year the entire studio audience got to bring home all of Oprah’s favs. Who needs Santa when we have Oprah?

There is no official reason for the episode being canceled. “We have no plans this season for a ‘Favorite Things,’” a Harpo employee reportedly told HuffPo. It is speculated that since so many people are struggling financially, Lady O deemed it inappropriate to rub our noses in her wealth. Another theory is that they couldn’t get the sponsorship from all of the products which allows them to spoil the audience with freebies each year. Whatever the case, I hope she changes her mind by next year. Or better yet, maybe she’ll start a “Favorite Things” series on her new network, OWN.
