With Peyton and Lucas Scott leaving the show after this season, a lot of fans were anxious to what kind of send off Hilarie Burton and Chad Michael Montegomery will receive and were hoping it wasn’t a tragic end for Peyton.
But did the finale live up to the expectations of all the fans?
After finally getting a chance to watch Monday night’s episode on the CW website, I was left speechless. There was just so much going on in the season finale that I had a hard time processing all the various emotions I was feeling.
CWTV.com says, “Nathan (James Lafferty) is released from the Chiefs, and is forced to face Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) and Jamie (Jackson Brundage).
On the eve of Peyton’s (Hilarie Burton) delivery, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Peyton receive a surprise visit from Karen (guest star Moira Kelly).
Dan (Paul Johansson) is on death’s door, while Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Victoria (Daphne Zuniga) prepare to re-launch Clothes Over Bro’s.”
The show opened up with Lucas rushing Peyton to the hospital. With Lucas anxiously watching on and being joined by various friends and loved ones, Peyton underwent surgery while the doctors performed a cesarean section and not only attempt to save the baby’s life, but attempt to save Peyton as well.
Finally, we learn that the baby is okay and that the baby is a beautiful little girl, Sawyer Brooke Scott. Peyton is still not conscious, and we watch as everyone worries.
No worries though, Peyton fans! She wakes up and is as spunky as ever. She sees her beautiful baby girl and it’s love at first sight.
In other Tree Hill news, Nathan goes back to the Chiefs, but then finds out he was finally picked up by the NBA! Woohoo, Nathan! Way to go.
At the closing of the episode, Peyton, Lucas, and baby take off in a car, driving away to their future. Brooke tells Julian she loves him (can you here me squeeling from here?). It was a mediocre closing for Lucas and Peyton because of the lack of closure, but it was good. Real good.
