Many people, me included, wish they could watch the latest TV shows on their mobile phone. We also want it to be affordable and be a quality picture. At one point this seemed like to much to ask but now there are several options for mobile phone users to watch quality TV at a reasonable price. Here are a few of them:

AT&T Mobile TV offers full length episodes of your favorite shows anytime on your cell phone. The service also comes with an on-screen program guide and offers quick channel changing with no buffering or waiting. AT&T Mobile doesn’t use your phone minutes or interrupt your phone service. You can also upgrade to AT&T Mobile TV Plus which will allow you unlimited mobile TV plus unlimited mobile web browsing video clips, and data usage. The downside of the service is that the price is a little steep. The basic package is $15.00 a month, Mobile TV Plus is $30.00 a month.

Verizon Wireless’ VCast also allows you to watch video on your VCast phone on demand. The benefit of VCast is that you don’t have to pay a high monthly fee for the service. You can purchase a daily subscription and you don’t have to download anything. All you have to do is go to the menu on your VCast phone and choose what video you want to watch. Both VCast and AT&T Mobile are run by Flo TV. You can check out their current program guide to get an idea of what is playing and what channels are offered. Though some programs are time-shifted, they are playing the latest broadcast of not just primetime shows but also news, sports, and entertainment programs. Of course, these plans vary based on what service, phone, and coverage area you are in.

MobiTV also lets you watch TV on your mobile phone. It works with Windows Mobile, Palm, Blackberry, and most mobile phones. The service is affordable, it is only 9.99 a month and offers more than 35 channels like NBC, Fox News, ESPN and TLC. There is a software download needed to get the service but once installed, it seems like it is easy to use as all programs can be selected from an electronic programming guide.

Blackberry just launched its own service, Sling Media, that lets you watch and control your home TV and DVR via your Slingbox on your BlackBerry smartphone. There aren’t too many reviews or information about this yet but it is definitely something to keep an eye on.
