CW TV is certainly trying to cash in on the old television shows that made such a huge splash. First, 90210 and now Melrose Place.

And hey, whatever works, right? I was such a huge fan of both shows in their early development and while 90210 is a much different show, it’s also very similar. I’m sure the same will be said of the new Melrose Place.

In keeping with the new but old motif, People Magazine reports on some of the cast:

“Looks like Melrose Place is getting more tenants – Josie Bissett is returning to her old haunt as a guest star, PEOPLE confirms.

Bissett reprises her role as Jane Andrews Mancini, sister to Laura Leighton’s Sydney Andrews, in at least one episode and may do more, according to a source.

Bissett joins original Melrose castmates Leighton and Thomas Calabro when the new incarnation airs on the CW network this fall.

Meanwhile Bissett’s ex-husband, Rob Estes (also a former Melrose alum), appears on the CW in 90210.”

Coming this fall, we will see if CW has a new hit with Melrose Place as they didi 90210. I’m planning on giving it a try, what about you? Thoughts on old shows returning with a new twist?
