There’s no question that when Lost first appeared it quickly grew into a powerhouse that garnered a lucrative fan base. Yet as the seasons dragged on and the plot and story art complexity intensified, many fans gave up on the series altogether. Lost’s return, however, has been hyped as a return to what made Lost great, and as a result they came out with a rather strong opening, even taking on competitors that had a rather strong lead in, like “Lie to Me” which debuted right after American Idol.
The recap of previous Lost episodes took second when compared to the ever popular megahit American Idol (blargh), but quickly picked up steam when the new episode of Lost appeared. It outperformed not just Lie to me, but also managed a very strong showing against the CBS’ dramas Criminal Minds 9peopel watch that?) and CSI: New York.
This could mean a return to the show’s dominance if it manages to deliver the goods of a great new season. If not, it could be one of those in like a lion out like a lamb deals, although my brother, a long time Lost fan, assured me that this will not be the case.
