Looking for HD Channels? Get DirecTV.

    By The Guru | October 22, 2007

If you are looking for the best High Definition experience currently available through a cable or satellite service, we HIGHLY recommend looking into DirecTV. These days HD is more popular than ever and it won’t be long until almost everyone can watch HD channels and movies. Many people are getting new LCD, DLP and Plasma televisions that support either 720i, 720p, 1080i or 1080p and want to be able to take full advantage of that with television programming thats broadcast in those formats.

High Definition is clearly the future of television, and DirecTV has recognized this. DirecTV has recently begun an initiative to have over 100 HD channels by the end of 2007. This is an unprecedented move in the History of Satellite TV because at the time they announced this they only had around 30 channels in HD. Dish Network, which is DirecTVs biggest competitor currently has around 30 channels as well. After DirecTV announced they 100 HD channels initiative, they began adding HD channels every week or so. They are currently at around 50, and should be launching another 20 or so channels this month putting them on track to meet their goal.

DirecTV has the technical backbone to support a lot more channels and content with the recent launch of the DirecTV 11 Satellite. It looks like they are already putting it to really good use. It should be interesting to see what is in store for us a little further down the road.

DirecTV’s current HD channel lineup is very impressive and has a bit of just about everything. Even though they don’t have all of the channels up yet that they will by the years end, they still have a great amount of variety between channels and there is something for just about everyone. If your looking for Family HD content, DirecTV has it, If you are looking for Sports HD content, DirecTV has it. If you are looking for Movies in High Definition, DirecTV has them - they have just about everything right now, and by the years end it will be even better.

We have to be honest. When we first heard about DirecTV’s High Definition plans, we dint think that they would happen. Just a few months ago, it just didn’t seem possible to get that many channels up that quickly. However it looks like we may have been proved wrong, even though its not the end of the year yet, they are right on track to get them up. I guess all we are left to say is…DirecTV You Better Not Disappoint!

As always we HIGHLY RECOMMEND signing up for DirecTV through the Official DirecTV Website.
