Law and Order: SVU has a couple of interesting guest stars lined-up. First, Kathy Griffin announced during her last NYE gig for CNN that she would be appearing on the series. And it looks like she is already taping her guest stint since she tweeted the following yesterday, “Today was my 1st day of filming SVU. Why does Chris Meloni keep offering me lube?” Typical Kathy.

Today, Kathy and the crew are filming at 3rd Ave and 24th St in Manhattan. But she won’t be the only special guest star joining the cast in the coming weeks. It was announced yesterday that after her hospitalization last summer and the downfall of her CW series The Beautiful Life in the fall, Mischa Barton is getting back in the saddle. The O.C. actress will guest star as a hooker on the March 3rd episode of SVU. Apparently, her character, Gladys, has a secret which will create some trouble for Benson (Mariska Hargitay).

Yesterday on Live Regis and Kelly, SVU star Chris Meloni admitted it is hard to watch the tough content of the show sometimes, even for him. Maybe these ladies will lighten the mood a bit, how can Kathy Griffin not lighten the mood? You can watch Chris’ interview here too.

The L.A. Times is reporting Sharon Stone is also joining the NBC drama for four episodes this season. She will be playing a prosecutor who used to be a police officer.
