Despite the hype surrounding the “Twilight” films, ABC’s “Twilight” special hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, only came in third place at 10 p.m. last night.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live: The Twilight Saga” drew 2.9 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 while
NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” took the night with 12.4 million viewers and a 3.5 rating, up 13%. Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” came in second with 6.4 million and a 2.5 rating.
During the “Twilight” special, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson reminisced about making the third movie in the “Twilight Saga”, “Eclipse”. Pattinson even revealed that the wolves in the movies could not have genitalia due to the PG-13 rating. Kimmel joked that they were “spayed and neutered werewolves.”
“Eclipse” co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Peter Facinelli, Dakota Fanning, Xavier Samuel, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed and Ashley Greene also made appearances.
The highlight of the show didn’t have anything to do with “Twilight” stars though. In a spoof of the vampire franchise, the kids of “Jersey Shore” did their own version of the movies.
“Twilight: Eclipse” opens nationwide on June 30.
