The late night hosts had some fun last night, at their own expense. With the fate of NBC’s late night line-up still unknown, Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and David Letterman handled the situation the best way they know how- with humor.

Conan got in a few digs at NBC and their announcement they were moving Jay Leno back to 11:35 pm in his monologue. “Good evening, everybody. I’m Conan O’Brien, the new host of ‘Last Call With Carson Daly,’ ” he joked. Then, after mentioning the California earthquake that happened over the weekend, he add, “The earthquake was so powerful that it knocked Jay Leno’s show from 10 o’clock to 11:35.”

Jay also got in a few jabs at NBC. “We’re not a show anymore, we’re a collector’s item,” he joked. “NBC said they wanted drama at 10 — now they got it! I take pride in one thing. I left NBC prime time the same way I found it: A complete disaster.”

Jimmy Fallon also got in a couple one-liners thanks to the NBC drama. At the top of his show he told the audience, “President Obama said we were on the verge of guaranteeing Americans health insurance whether they lose their job, change jobs, move or get sick, so Jay Conan and I are safe, don’t worry.”

Meanwhile, David Letterman offered NBC some “free genius TV advice” for his old network,suggesting they should take a cue from the Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira-hosted Today show and let Conan and Jay co-host the Tonight Show.

“So here’s what you do, they come out together, they’re co-hosting The Tonight Show. Conan comes out, he says, ‘Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Tonight Show, and now here’s Jay to tell his little jokes.’ Then Jay will do a segment, then Conan will do a segment…That’s how you fix the Tonight Show. I don’t know what to tell you to do about Carson Daly. I got no solutions there.”
