The most shocking twist on The Hills this week didn’t come from last night’s season premiere, it came from The Daily Beast. The website leaked the salaries of each star of The Hills yesterday and showed us all that these kids are making a killing to air their dirty laundry (or at least to pretend they are airing their dirty laundry). Here’s a break down of how much each cast member makes PER EPISODE:

Kristin Cavallari, $90,000
Audrina Patridge, $100,000
Lauren “Lo” Bosworth, $100,000
Heidi Montag, $100,000
Spencer Pratt, $65,000
Brody Jenner, $45,000
Lauren Conrad (before leaving), $125,000

It’s hard to believe that anyone would pay Spencer and Heidi a combined weekly income of $165,000. It’s also hard to get a grasp on how much the average salary for a reality star is, since its not something that’s ever really talked about. It’s rumored that game show contestants, a la Big Brother and Survivor, make around $2000-$2500 a week but they also have a chance to win a large monetary prize at the end of the season.  To put The Hill’s stars salaries into perspective, it is also rumored that The Real Housewives only make around $30,000 per episode. If I were NeNe, I’d be calling my agent right about now!
