The future of Heroes has been in question for some time now. Ratings have been slipping, and many viewers wondered aloud if the show had finally lost it’s touch and may be dropped for good. I for one still enjoy the show very much, so I had been hoping it would stick around long enough for them to give it a proper ending. It would rive me crazy not having that closure, but so far it doesn’t appear it’ll come to that.

NBC Entertainment president did say that the network will be bringing back the show for a fourth season, and said that plans are to order about 18-20 episodes. Despite slipping in the ratings, the show is still bringing in viewers from a key demographic, adults between the ages of 18-49, according to TV Chatting.

It appears that even if NBC had considered canceling the show, next season wouldn’t be the conclusion. This works in the favor of fans since it looks like no matter what happens we’ll get to see more of the Heroes universe. So far I’ve been very ahppy with the new season, with the one exception being Hiro’s storyline, which if anything has simply been a distraction.
