Since NBC officially launched it’s television download service last year, called NBC direct originally, viewers have been able to catch a pretty wide ranging number of shows at no cost. These include popular series like Heroes and 30 Rock.

To get started you’ll need the proper software to be able to play the video files (You’ll need to update a couple things, most notably security updates for your Windows Media Player). Once you’re all setup you can browse and view any video you want, from TV series to the latest news to last week’s reality show. Typically, videos are available for a limited time, since they still want to make money off the shows’ DVD releases. Heroes, for example, currently has season 2 available for your viewing pleasure, but season 1 only offers highlights, since they’ll likely be thrown in on DVDs soon.
