DirecTV will Soon Have Public TV Stations In HD
By The Guru | January 8, 2008
DirecTV has recently reached an agreement to carry public television stations (PBS) across the country in HD. This means that PBS high definition content could be coming to your living room by the end of the month. DirecTV will also be working with PBS to develop on demand programming that you can access at any time through the on demand interface.
I am pretty excited about this news because I love shows like NOVA and it would be awesome to finally have that in HD. PBS has some great educational content that is long overdue in HD. Overall I think a lot of people will benefit from this and it will be interesting to see if they have sesame street in HD - for the kids of course…
It looks as if 2008 is really going to be the year of HD. DirecTV has built up a pretty solid HD lineup to build to and it looks like they will continue to add even more channels throughout 2008.
