DirecTV has just posted a great video on their site that explains how the installation process works.  Installation is probably the most talked about aspect of Satellite TV.  The video isn’t meant to be a guide and doesn’t touch on any specifics, however it does explain the process pretty well and gives you a good idea of what to expect.  It also explains what you need to have ready for them.  Basically it says

>  Installation takes 2-5 hours
>  Make sure someone 18 years or older is home
>  The DirecTV Technician takes an interior and exterior site survey to determine the best place to install the dish
>  The Technician then installs the Dish and Connects each TV to a Receiver
>  The Technician shows you how to use the system and cleans up
