Courtney Thorne-Smith is joining the cast of “Two and and a Half Man”. She will play Alan’s new girlfriend in a recurring role on the CBS series.

And, like Alan, her character, Lindsay, is a bit of mess. She has just gotten a divorce and has a teenage son who is having a hard time dealing with the situation. There’s still no word on when her arc will begin or how many episodes she’ll be appearing in.

Thorne-Smith, also starred in “Ally McBeal” and “Melrose Place” recently ended an eight-season run on “According to Jim.”

Lionsgate Entertainment announced this week that the second season of “According to Jim” is coming to DVD on May 4th. The follow-up to the late-2008 release of the first season will come on 4 discs, with 28 episodes running 595 minutes. The set will start at $29.98.
