In what might be the irony of the year, NBC, who very publicly parted ways Conan O’Brien less than a week ago, is back in business with him via his production company Conaco.

In a move that even shocked O’Brien and his team, the network has given the green light to a pilot called “Justice” from former “Alias” and “K-Ville” writer-producer John Eisendrath. The project is being produced by O’Brien’s company Conaco. As part of his exit deal, Conaco will stay based at NBC through the upcoming pilot season.

“Justice” revolves around a former Supreme Court justice and his return to private practice after leaving the bench. Eisendrath will executive produce with O’Brien, Jeff Ross and David Kissinger.

The pilot, which is one one of the most buzzed about at NBC right now, is considered a new take on the usual law drama. It marks the third legal pilot on the network’s slate for next season, along with “Rex Is Not Your Lawyer” and David E. Kelley’s “Kindreds.”
