After much speculation, Conan O’Brien finally announced his next move, he’s going on tour. On Thursday, the former host of The Tonight Show tweeted:
“Hey Internet: I’m headed to your town on a half-assed comedy & music tour. Go to http://TeamCoco.com for tix. I repeat: It’s half-assed.”
The 2-month, 30-city tour kicks off on April 12th in Eugene, OR and “promises to be a night of music, comedy, hugging, and the occasional awkward silence.”
There has been so much interest in the shows that they most are already sold out, though more dates are being added. New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and L.A. have all gotten second dates.
And, it sounds like Conan and company are already preparing for the tour. Today Conan shared:
“Tour preparations have begun. First step: Groupie auditions at Randy’s Donuts off the 405 fwy. Knock twice on the white minivan.”
The tour is largely the result of a clause in Conan’s contract with NBC that keeps him off TV until September.
You can get tickets to see Conan, Andy Richter and the former “Tonight Show” band on the “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television” tour at Teamcoco.com.
