Christian Slater is hoping the third time’s a charm.
After starring in back to back series that were canceled after only one season, Slater is set to star in Fox’s untitled Adam Goldberg comedy pilot.
The comedy revolves around a team of twentysomething geniuses who crack security systems and also stars Trevor Moore, who will play the team’s womanizing intelligence and reconnaissance head.
Slater, who also will serve as a producer on the pilot, will play the charismatic renegade who runs the Titan Team, a gruff ex-military misanthrope with a checkered past.
Slater starred in NBC’s 2008 drama “My Own Worst Enemy,” which went straight to series but lasted only one season and he took over the lead on ABC’s drama “The Forgotten” last fall. Though The Forgotten has not officially been canceled by ABC, most of the cast and producers have singed on for new projects next fall.
This will be Slater’s first lead in a comedy series, though he did have a guest role on NBC’s “My Name Is Earl.”
