If there’s one word that describes Weeds season 4, than it has to be change. The Botwins have relocated, and they now live in a border town in California. Here, they live with Andy’s parents, and Andy himself is forced to come to terms with his own family history.

In the midst of the season, Celia also has to be the scape goat for Nancy’s “business” activities and ends up in the slammer. Nancy also escalates her business, making border runs with drug lord Guillermo.

Season 3 of Weeds had a pretty wide variety of storylines, and I had a bit of trouble keeping them all together. Much of the season revolves around the aftermath of season 2. Nancy is constantly under pressure this season to pay off her debt to U-Turn, which was valued at the worth of the entire crop harvest that was destroyed. She actually gets a real job working for a shady developer of a rival neighborhood.

he neighborhood, called the Majestic, ends up attempting a takeover of Agrestic, and Doug is at the helm since it’ll bring in a ton of money. Groff gives a gift to Celia, however, which causes Doug to change his mind and begin sabotaging the Majestic’s infrastructure.

We also saw Andy go through basic training in the military because his injury doesn’t exempt him from service. He ends up wiggling out of it though through a rather elaborate scheme. All in all? A pretty solid season.

Even though Showtime has yet to announce when season 5 of Weeds will premiere, rumors and theories are swirling around the internet. The good news is, there will definitely be a season 5 and 6. Showtime has renewed the series for two more seasons, 13 episodes each. Some of the speculation surrounds Nancy, a possible pregnancy, and maybe even a wedding. Kristen over at E! featured an interview with one of the show’s execs Jenji Kohan, who hinted that we may learn more about Nancy’s family this season.

We might also get more insight into Nancy’s family and background in the newly ordered season five and six. Says Jenji, “There was a lot of interest in [the writers' room about] the sister she referenced when she thought Peter was going to kill her. And there’s a father floating around; not sure about a mother.”

Kristen also revealed a fun fact about why HBO passed on the show before it was picked up by Showtime. Apparently, they didn’t want a show with kids in it. Were they watching the same show we all know and love?

For those of you, like me, who don’t subscribe to Showtime and have to wait for each season to be released on DVD, there may be hope for us yet. Netflix recently signed a deal with NBC, CBS, and Disney to stream TV shows the day after they premiere on television. The complaint about Netflix’s streaming service was that it lacked quality content. Well, not anymore, for about 8.99 a month, Netflix subscribers can watch shows like CSI through the streaming service the day after they premiere in primetime.

You can already watch past episodes of Weeds that have been released on DVD instantly online at Netflix but hopefully they will continue to strike deals to bring the most recent TV to our computer screens. Maybe by next season we will be watching Weeds via Netflix’s stream the day after the episode premieres!

The audience for Weeds has been growing since its debut in 2005, and this popular comedy has received numerous Emmy nominations. Furthermore, Weeds broke a record for Showtime during season 4 when 1.35 million viewers tuned in. With that said, it shouldn’t be a surprise to learn that the premiere of Weeds Season 5 should air on Showtime sometime in June or July of 2009. Not only can we expect 13 more episodes for Weeds Season 5, but sources have said that Showtime has planned another 13 episodes for a Weeds Season 6.

In Weeds Season 4, it looked as if Andy had feelings for Nancy, so the question now is if he’ll reveal those feelings in Weeds Season 5. And if Andy does tell Nancy how he feels, will she pursue a relationship with him or continue her new relationship with Esteban (Demián Bichir)?

Many of us Weeds fans noticed a few things in Weeds Season 4 that made us wonder if Nancy may be pregnant. Do you think she’s pregnant? Well, all I can say about that rumor is we’ll have to tune in to Weeds Season 5 to find out. Moreover, if season 5 reveals that Nancy is pregnant, I wonder who the baby’s daddy will be, and how will the pregnancy affect Nancy’s drug-dealing life. Whether Nancy’s pregnant or not, I also wonder if she will continue to sell drugs in Weeds Season 5 or move on to bigger, better and less dangerous things? I guess we’ll just have to tune in to the Weeds Season 5 premiere on Showtime in 2009 for the answers.

I tell ya, Weeds Season 4 ended with a great cliffhanger that has left me waiting with much anticipation for Weeds Season 5! What about you, are you ready to discover what’s in store for the Botwin family in season 5?
