Steve Carell, who’s played the Scranton branch leader, Michael Scott, on “The Office” for the past six seasons, says that the 2010-11 season will “probably” be his last on the show. In a BBC radio interview with his “Date Night” co-star Tina Fey, he notes that his contract runs out next season and he most likely won’t renew it.

Interviewer: How long will you stay with ‘The Office’ for? How many more series? How long does your contract run?
Carell: Contract through next season.
Interviewer: And will you stay after that?
Carell: I don’t think so. I think that will probably be my last year.

That’s potentially big news for the show, which is NBC’s second-highest-rated series (after “Sunday Night Football”) among adults 18-49; it’s averaging a 4.6 rating in the demographic this season, which places it in the Top 20 among all shows, and just under 9 million viewers per week, more than any of the other series in NBC’s Thursday lineup.

Though this is not an official statement, its not a good sign for the show. Would you watch “The Office” sans Michael Scott?

The fictional farm belongs to Dwight Schrute and his crazy cousin Mose on the NBC series “The Office”. In September 2007, the producers of “The Office” asked to use the popular travel review site TripAdvisor in an episode in which Dwight turns his beet farm into a bed and breakfast. Tripadvisor was more than happy to oblige, Christine Petersen, the chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor said, “We don’t have a big marketing budget and don’t do TV ads, this was the big time.”

Tripadvisor set up a review page for Schrute Farms for the episode, but it was quickly forgotten about by the site and the writers. We thought it would be fun, but then we didn’t think about it anymore,” said Paul Lieberstein, who wrote the episode.

But, much to Paul’s surprise, the Schrute Farm page on TripAdvisor is still going strong thanks to reruns and DVDs. Tripadvisors readers have added to the myth of Dwight’s beet farm. Mandy Pyszka from Milwaukee raved about the beet pudding while Carla Harrington of Fredricksburg, Va only gave the farm one star, adding, “Dwight was an overbearing survivalist who appears to have escaped from the local mental asylum.”

But, not everyone was in on the joke, TripAdvisor had to add a disclaimer explaining the farm wasn’t real after they started receiving complaints from readers who wanted to stay there.

You can add your own comment to the TripAdvisor page here.

NBC has bumped up Pam’s due date on The Office. The Jam baby will be born on Thursday, March 4, which will also mark the first post-Olympic episode.

In anticipation of the big event, NBC has released two new promos focusing on Pam and Jim. Hopefully, the added attention will also help the show’s ratings.

Last night The Office placed third, behind CBS’ Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy with a total of 7.4 million viewers.

Some fans have been disappointed by The Office this season, and feel like the show has lost some of the key dynamics that made it a hit in the first place. One glaring example has been Jim’s willingness to take on a role that he once thought was pointless. He use to be the voice of the audience within the office, the one who was in on the joke. Now he’s become the man, not in on the joke like he used to be, not the butt of the joke like Michael, but instead, his character has turned into “the man”.

This sentiment certainly hasn’t helped the rating and only adds to the pressure NBC must already be feeling over the show’s downturn.

Check out the new trailers below and let us know what you think of The Office this season.

Tina Fey and Steve Carell are making the most of their hiatuses from 30 Rock and The Office by teaming up for a new movie, Date Night. In the film, Tina and Steve play a married couple who get more than they bargained for when heading out for a night on the town.

Director Shawn Levy explained to Variety why the comedy duo was his first choice for the the film. “I wanted to do a relatable, grounded character comedy about marriage and the lengths we go to preserve the spark,” Levy said. “Tina and Steve are smart and relatable, and the tone of their comedy perfectly fits this film.”

The movie began filming a few weeks ago in Los Angeles but is now wrapping up in New York City. Last week, they filmed a brief night scene on on Broome St in NYC. Onlookers report that the couple turned onto Broome Street in a car and Carell then attempted to parallel park a number of times, before both of them exited the vehicle in the scene.

Tina and Steve aren’t the only TV stars in the movie, due in theaters next year. Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester reportedly plays their babysitter while That 70′s Show’s Mila Kunis and Saturday Night Live’s Kristen Wiig are also rumored to appear in the movie.

Some of the best webseries are actually extensions of TV’s most popular shows. Here’s a look at the best spin-off webseries you can watch online anytime.

NBC has featured three exclusive online webseries based on The Office. The first, The Accountants, premiered in 2006 when the TV series debuted and is about, who else, Dunder Mifflin’s accountants. Last year, they created a series of webisodes called Kevin’s Loan, about all of the advice and ideas Kevin’s co-worker gave him for paying off his gambling debt. The latest series, The Outburst, is about an unlikely outburst Oscar has on the phone.

The CW recently debuted a webseries all about Blair Waldorf’s faithful maid Dorota on Gossip Girl. Chasing Dorota follows her “after hours” and lets viewers into her secret world.

Heroes has also inspired multiple webseries, the latest of which is Nowhere Man. Nowhere Man is about Doyle who takes matters into his own hands after his prospects for a normal life fade.

NBC has officially announced its fall line-up which includes 6 new scripted series, The Jay Leno Show, and three new “alternative” programs, The Marriage Ref, Who Do You Think You Are?, and Breakthrough with Tony Robbins.

As we’ve mentioned, one of the new scripted shows the network is trying is a one-hours series based on the 1988 movie Parenthood. The show’s cast has been filled in with some of TV’s biggest names including Peter Krause (Dirty Sexy Money, Six Feet Under), Craig T. Nelson (The Family Stone, Coach), Sarah Ramos (In Treatment), and two ER alums, Maura Tierney and Miles Heizer which gives us hope the show might be pretty good but like everything else in TV, there are no guarantees.

Anther show officially added to NBC’s fall line-up is Trauma, a drama about first-responder paramedics who rush by land, sea or air to reach their victims in San Francisco.

After finally canceling the network’s longest running medical drama, ER, NBC just couldn’t resist ordering a new one to replace it. Mercy, starring Gossip Girl’s Michelle Trachtenberg and Men in Trees’ James Tupper, is about a nurse who “bucks the rules and schools the doctors at their own game.”

What is sure to be their most buzzed about new series, Day One, is about “the aftermath of a global catastrophe that has devastated the world’s infrastructures and an eclectic band of survivors who try to rebuild society and figure out what happened. Not surprisingly, the show is produced by Jesse Alexander who teamed with J.J. Abrams for Lost and Alias.

Chevy Chase is returning to TV in Community, a sitcom about a group of misfits who form a study group at a community college.

100 Questions rounds out the network’s new scripted programming. The series is about a woman searching for love online. She flashes back to previous relationships as she answers each of the 100 computability questions asked on a dating website.

The Office, 30 Rock, The Biggest Loser, The Celebrity Apprentice, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Friday Night Lights, Heroes, Southland, Parks and Recreation and Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday will all be returning as well.

Here’s a look at what we can expect from NBC.

Southland is a new cop drama about Ben Sherman (Ben McKenzie), a rookie cop who’s being shown the ropes by his partner, John Cooper (Michael Cudlitz). The young cop struggles with the cost that comes with his new profession, like the difficulty he has with shooting a man dead on his first day. The show has a perfect time slot, it will take over ER’s Thrusday night position on April 9th, which is fitting since its executive producer, John Wells, was also the executive producer of ER.

Amy Poehler’s much hyped new show, Parks and Recreation also premieres on April 9th. Parks and Recreation is a mockumnetary about a local government public works office brought to you by the same folks who are running The Office. Critics love it, positioning Poehler to be the next Tina Fey, but hopefully Amy will have better luck finding an audience than her friend Tina has had with 30 Rock.

NBC’s third mid-season show is their biggest gamble. Kings premiered last night to so-so ratings. The epic drama is set in an alternate-universe monarchy in which a peasant prince is groomed to become the king. Fans of epic tales, like Battlestar Galactica, will most likely love Kings but the rest of us will probably pass it by.

Fox is premiering yest another prime-time animated series, Sit Down, Shut Up, about a high school as seen through the eyes of the demented teachers and administrators who run it. The twist in Sit Down, Shut Up is that the characters are animated but the background is live action. Even if that doesn’t sound appealing, The stellar cast makes up for it. Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Kristin Chenoweth, Cheri Oteri, and Tom Kenny all provide voices.

Apparently, a new character, played by “The Wire’s” Idris Elba, will be promoted to Jan’s old job at corporate even though Michael thinks he should get the position, especially since his office has been performing so well. Rumor has it, this new character will cause a lot of trouble for Michael and not just over the phone from the New York, he will actually move to the Scranton. Idris Elba has signed on for six episodes (so far) which means he will be in charge of the Scranton office for a while, giving Michael time to melt down and move on. It will be interesting to see who goes with him. Knowing the cube dwellers at “The Office” as well as I do, I’m predicting it will be Dwight who abandons his DM sales job to follow Michael.

Its doubtful Carell would leave the show permanently since it has been a great vehicle for his own career. This could be a situation where he leaves for a few episodes and then returns triumphant. Remember when Pam was in NYC or Dwight worked at Staples? I think we’re going to see Michael break away for a few episodes but just like Dwight and Pam, he’ll be back in “The Office” before we know it.

Well despite a few lulls here and there in the Office in terms of humor and overall goodness, they still lived it up at the SAG awards. Rightfully so, if you ask me, but the cast recently loaded up on dresses and tuxes and spoke to Thea Andrews about the show.

John Krasinski (who plays Jim, my fiance’s secret lover),revealed that he believed Creed Bratton is the funniest cast member. Steve Carell on the other hand believes that the whole team is pretty damn funny

“I think it’s a great ensemble,” Steve Carell (Michael Scott) says of “The Office” cast and crew. “Everybody feels a part of a whole.”

Thankfully, a whole slew of millions of viewers happen to agree.

As the show continues to age though, one has to wonder if the future is so bright. They’ve exhausted a number of story arcs, and the show has occasionally gotten bogged down in recent seasons. Do you think they’ll still be able to bring on the funny? Or is it time to start wrapping things up?
