I HIGHLY recommend watching the new season of Weeds through Netflix. Netflix will be adding new episodes of Weeds to watch streaming online the day after they air on Showtime.

You can sign up for a 2 week free trial and watch movies and tv shows online as well as on DVD and Blu-ray.

Even though Showtime has yet to announce when season 5 of Weeds will premiere, rumors and theories are swirling around the internet. The good news is, there will definitely be a season 5 and 6. Showtime has renewed the series for two more seasons, 13 episodes each. Some of the speculation surrounds Nancy, a possible pregnancy, and maybe even a wedding. Kristen over at E! featured an interview with one of the show’s execs Jenji Kohan, who hinted that we may learn more about Nancy’s family this season.

We might also get more insight into Nancy’s family and background in the newly ordered season five and six. Says Jenji, “There was a lot of interest in [the writers' room about] the sister she referenced when she thought Peter was going to kill her. And there’s a father floating around; not sure about a mother.”

Kristen also revealed a fun fact about why HBO passed on the show before it was picked up by Showtime. Apparently, they didn’t want a show with kids in it. Were they watching the same show we all know and love?

For those of you, like me, who don’t subscribe to Showtime and have to wait for each season to be released on DVD, there may be hope for us yet. Netflix recently signed a deal with NBC, CBS, and Disney to stream TV shows the day after they premiere on television. The complaint about Netflix’s streaming service was that it lacked quality content. Well, not anymore, for about 8.99 a month, Netflix subscribers can watch shows like CSI through the streaming service the day after they premiere in primetime.

You can already watch past episodes of Weeds that have been released on DVD instantly online at Netflix but hopefully they will continue to strike deals to bring the most recent TV to our computer screens. Maybe by next season we will be watching Weeds via Netflix’s stream the day after the episode premieres!

I have been watching Weeds on iTunes after the episodes are released on DVD. It’s a great way to catch up on your favorite shows. Each episode is only 1.99 and can be viewed anytime.

Netflix has long been known as a revolutionary movie service, destroyer of the old and tired system of picking up your movie at a physical location. Instead they give you an intuitive online queue system that allows you to receive (with 96% accuracy according to the company) your movie the next day. But how exactly does their queue system work? How do they anticipate demand?

Demand is of course a very important factor that plays into their queue system. Too many movies and their inventory becomes clogged with dvds that no one wants rent. Too few and you anger customers that have to wait too long to get their flick. To strike a balance, Netflix takes in the box office performance of a movie into account, as well as user feedback. You can actually reserve a movie before it’s officially released, so Netflix also takes into account the number of users prematurely adding a movie into their queue.

As Tom Petty says, the waiting is the hardest part, and it can be frustrating when you really want to see a movie only to come home each day to an empty mailbox. Why does this happen? No one knows exactly why, but the company did say what factors are at play here. First come first serve may seem like the most fair way to do it, but this isn’t always the case. Your film history, such as the number of new releases you go after each month could mean someone who usually watches older films but finds a new release he/she wants to watch may get it before you. If you have a high turnover rate with movie, faithfully watching and sending them back everyday, you may find yourself supplanted by someone who watches just a few a month. It may not be fair, but it’s better for business.

The Netflix queue is often a complex and frustrating creature, but at least this way you’ll know why your movie was a day or 2 late even though you know you were unquestionably the first person to reserve a new release. Enjoy!

As most of you know, I am a huge Netflix fan. In fact, I recently got an app on my iPhone that lets me manage my Netflix queue on the go. So when I ran across this 2 Week Free Trial offer from Netflix I had to share it. For those of you who don’t know, Netflix is a movie rental service that lets you rent movies and tv shows and then watch them online or receive DVD’s and Blu-ray disks through the mail.

Once you try Netflix you’ll never go back to the traditional movie rental store. Yes, its a life changing experience. Netflix has a library of over 100,000 DVD movies and TV shows to choose from. If you choose to receive Netflix movies by mail they usually arrive in just one business day.

Another great thing about Netflix is that there are NO LATE FEES. You can keep a movie as long as you want, when your done simply mail it back (they provide you with a pre-paid envelope) and they will send out your next movie. It really is that simple.

Anyway the 2 Week Free Trial may not be around much longer, so sign up now and you’ll see just how great Netflix really is.

If you are looking to contact Netflix customer support by phone the Toll Free number is 1-800-715-2135.
