Ryan Murphy, the show’s creator said that Puck and Rachel will reunite.”Yes, they will get back together. But the great thing about Puck is he’s a bad boy, so he has an affair with almost every girl on the show.”

Many of the winners at Saturday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards seemed very familiar. That’s probably because most of them won a Golden Globe just one week earlier.

For starters, Jeff Bridges won the Screen Actors Guild award for best actor for his role as an aging musician in Crazy Heart while Sandra Bullock won the SAG award for best actress for her portrayal of the real-life adoptive mother of a young man who goes on to become an NFL player in The Blind Side. And you guessed it, they both won the best actor and actress honors at the Golden Globes for just a week earlier.

Glee edged out new ABC’s freshman comedy Modern Family for a Golden Globe win in the category of comedy or musical.

Excited cast members of the musical Fox series almost fell over themselves as they rushed the stage when the win was announced.

“Thank you, Hollywood Foreign Press and Barbra Streisand,” quipped creator Ryan Murphy. He praised studio and network executives who felt that a musical would work on network prime time and noted that “Glee” stressed the importance of arts education.

Murphy dedicated the win to “anybody and everybody who ever got a wedgie.”

glee“Glee”  dominated the 14 television categories in television at the Satellite Awards by winning five  including Best TV Series, Comedy or Musical. Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele also won in the Best Actor and Actress of Comedy or Musical categories respectively.

AMC’s “Breaking Bad” was named Best Drama Series and the show’s star, Bryan Cranston, won as Best Actor in Drama. Another double winner was the HBO film “Grey Gardens” which won for Best Motion Picture Made for TV and Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV movie (Drew Barrymore).

sg_gleeFox’s critically lauded musical-dramedy, Glee, landed more Golden Globe nominations than any other show with four nods including best television series for comedy or musical. Besides the nominations for the series, Glee also received nominations for Matthew Morrison, who plays the glee club instructor, and Lea Michele, who plays the fantastic but arrogant Rachel, two Broadway veterans who are TV newcomers. Veteran stage and screen actress Jane Lynch also earned a bid for best supporting actress in a series, miniseries or movie.

“I slept through (the nominations announcement),” Lynch said. “But, I got up to six messages and went, ‘Ah! I wonder if there is some good news for us?’ And there was. My agent called me three times and said, ‘Why aren’t you up?’ So, yeah. I called my mom, and she said, ‘the golden what?’”

gleeA lot of major issues were finally wrapped up in last week’s fall season finale.

When Rachel picks up on what’s going on between Quinn and Puck, the gang knows it’s not long before she runs to Finn with the news. Even though they try to stop her, they can’t and the news levels Finn, causing him to sucker punch Puck.

Their next problem is that they have to face Sectionals without Mr. Schue. Luckily, Emma pushes back her wedding to escort the kids. Only at sectionals, the group’s glee is cut short when the rival clubs perform their showstoppers, including “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Proud Mary” thanks to Sue who distributed their set list. When Mr. Schue hears the news, he convinces Finn to go and meet the crew with a new set list and a few motivational words.

sg_biggestloserSuggesting that ratings for The Jay Leno Show might be a whole lot stronger if its lead-in shows were as well, Tuesday night’s episode drew 8.40 million viewers after it followed the season finale of NBC’s The Biggest Loser. The hit reality show averaged 13.43 million viewers, peaking with 15.15 million in the half hour before Leno.

While this represented a 45 percent drop in viewers, it did give the Leno show its highest ratings since its first week in September. Among adults 18-49, regarded by advertisers as the key demographic group, it was No. 1 in its time period, and among viewers overall it placed second to a repeat of CBS’s The Good Wife. (On Wednesday night, only 4.53 million viewers tuned in as it again placed last among the major networks.)
