Dexter star Julie Benz has been tapped to star opposite Michael Chiklis in ABC’s new pilot No Ordinary Family.

The drama revolves around Jim (Michael Chiklis), a once aspiring artist-turned-police artist, and his typical American family who suddenly finds themselves with new “abilities.” Julie will play Jim’s wife, a gifted scientist who develops a power for superspeed.

Currently, Benz is starring on Desperate Housewives as a lap dancer who has just taken up residence on Wisteria Lane. In the season four finale of Dexter, Julie’s character, Rita, was surprisingly killed.

Benz will also stars in the Hallmark movie, Uncorked. In the made-for-TV flick, She plays Johnetta “Johnny” Prentice, a workaholic CFO for a major corporation whose life is turned upside-down when she’s sent to a conference in California wine country to seal a deal, but winds up falling in love along the way.

“Johnny is a woman who relies on work to get things in her life done,” Benz explains about the character. “I understand that sort of mindset really well, though I think Johnny’s a lot more cut off emotionally than I am. I like to think I’ve got a lot of different sides to me that I can bring out in my performing.”

Uncorked debuts on Hallmark Saturday night at 9 p.m.

Sunday night on Desperate Housewives, we finally found out who didn’t survive Wisteria Lane’s plane crash. The episode also gave us a look at what the future would look like for the women if things had been different. Each of the ladies imagined an alternate future as they asked themselves, “What if?”

If you remember the last episode before the show went on a brief hiatus, you’ll remember that Orson and Karl were sparring in Santa’s cottage just before a plane leveled it and Mona was clipped by a wing of the plane just as she threatened to blackmail Angie and Nick while Lynette dove in front of the plane to save Celia from getting hit.

The dream sequences began with Susan’s fantasy. She gave Karl another chance after discovering he cheated on her. The stress of her decision causes her to put on some weight, then lose it (along with Mike) before Karl ends up leaving her anyway. In reality, Karl dies which Susan says makes her feel “grateful.”

Bree also visualizes what her life would be like if Karl didn’t die and they were together. Inevitably, she pictures herself finding him in bed with her yoga instructor. We also see her go to Orson’s one-room bachelor apartment after he dies of a heart attack. They haven’t spoken in 10 years, the landlady tells her that it was almost like he died of a broken heart.
Hopefully that fantasy will help her get through the rough road ahead since Orson is out of danger, but there’s a good chance he’ll be paralyzed.

Lynette’s post-crash injuries put one of the twins in jeopardy and she’s rushed into surgery. She dreams of her devastation as she faces her infant son’s physical therapy and, later, teaches him self-reliance. We then see her unborn son give a speech at his law-school graduation, in which he thanks Lynette for her support. Unfortunately, a dream is all it will be since one of the twins has died, but the other is fine.

What did you think of the plane crash and its consequences?

Last night’s Desperate Housewives was Nicolette Sheridan’s final episode. Sheridan’s character, Edie, served as the narrator (instead of the usual Mary Alice) and explained that she was electrocuted after running her car into a telephone pole. Then, the remaining women of Wisteria Lane took a road trip to deliver Edie’s ashes to her son, Travers, telling stories about Edie that were seen in flashbacks along the way, reminding us that Edie wasn’t that bad after all.

Susan told the ladies about the first time she met Edie and revealed that they were fast friends despite the fact they spent most of the series arguing. We also learn that Edie was the first person to warn Susan that her then husband Karl was cheating on her.

Lynette told a touching story about the first time Edie brought her for a chemo treatment. Edie brought Lynette to a bar and reminded her how strong she was and that she could beat cancer. Of course, always true to form, she bought Lynette a tequila shot too.

Bree recalled the first time she went to visit Orson in prison, where she found out Edie had been visiting him at least once a week. Edie made Bree realize that she should visit Orson more often, despite the conditions, since he ultimately went to prison for her.

Gaby reminisced about going to a singles bar with Edie while her and Carlos were divorced. They held a contest to see who could get more guys to buy them drink in an hour. Gaby won the contest, leaving Edie to think about getting older and her own mortality. She admitted to Gaby later that she knew she would never live to see 50.

Once they arrived at Travers dorm room, Mrs. McCluskeytold them that she knew why Edie gave Travers to his father, because she wanted to protect him from her. When they returned to Wisteria Lane, each of the women took a small amount of Edie’s ashes and spread them around their home while Edie closed the show with a touching voice-over, a fitting way to give the audience closure without being too sappy.

”As I looked down on the world, I began to let go of it,” she said without a hint of remorse. ”I let go of white picket fences and cars and driveways, coffee cups and vacuum cleaners. I let go of all those things that seemed so ordinary but when you put them together, they make up a life, a life that really was one of a kind. I’ll tell you something: It’s not hard to die when you know you have lived, and I did. Oh, how I lived.”

By now it’s hit about every TV related blog that covers Desperate Housewives, but I’m not entirely sure why anyone is surprised by the revelation that Sheridan is on her way out from the show. Sheridan has said a number of times that she intends to leave the show, and ET recently confirmed that Edie Britt is leaving..again.

Last season she was actually driven out by the other women of Wysteria lane, but she made a reappearance when the show went forward five years. Pretty soon Desperate Housewives will be like lost, flashing back and forth through time until we all have no idea what the characters are doing or why.

Sheridan’s character is pretty much the slut of the whole neighborhood, so I suppose they’ll have to dig up another ridiculously attractive woman to take her place. She played a “flirty” real estate agent who is sometimes a friend and sometimes a foe of the rest of her counterparts, although mostly foe in previous seasons.

There’s more drama today over Balthazar Getty’s alleged exit from “Brothers and Sisters”. Now it is being reported he will be back next season. Show runner Alison Schapker told the L.A. Times, “Tommy is in no way permanently gone,” she said. “This is just the logical end to this year’s story. What we’d like to do is bring him back next year in a different way.” I’m skeptical about Getty returning. It’s a good way to spin why he is leaving but I have a feeling when the show returns next year, he still won’t be around.

I’ve already covered the new on-again romance over at “Gossip Girl” but that’s not going to be the only love fest heating up the Upper East Side this spring. Apparently, Armie Hammer is joining the cast of “Gossip Girl” as Serena’s new love interest. His character, Gabriel Serrano, is a European socialite who is very different from any of Serena’s other boy toys. Hammer has signed on to appear in three episodes toward the end of the season.

“Parks and Recreation” not only has a new name but also has a new cast member. “Everwood’s” Chris Pratt has just been added to the cast of Amy Phoeler’s upcoming NBC comedy as the unemployed musician boyfriend of Rashida Jones’ character. The show debuts on April 9th, I can’t wait!

The Awful Truth is exclusively confirming that Nicollette Sheridan is leaving “Desperate Housewives” before the end of the current season. Apparently, a script is circulating around Wisteria Lane that includes Edie’s exit and ABC is confirming she will be written out of the show. Insiders say the character will be killed off when Edie finds out her husband is trying to kill her. She will run out of the house, in an attempt to escape her husband, but will get in an accident, “something involving her car and an electrical wire.” Last year, E! claimed Sheridan had several demands on set and the show’s creator Marc Cherry was trying to get rid of her then, looks like he finally succeeded!

Yesterday, I reported T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl are leaving “Grey’s Anatomy”, now Nicollette Sheridan is leaving “DH”, but that’s not the end of character exits at ABC! It has also been confirmed this week that Balthazar Getty is leaving “Brothers and Sisters” and it sounds like his exit will be sooner rather than later. Getty left his wife for Siena Miller last year and there has been buzz ever since that the show wasn’t happy about his off screen behavior. It seems like the writers are going to let his character (Tommy Walker) display some bad behavior of his own in the coming weeks. Rumor has it Tommy will go to jail, get bailed out, get wasted, flirt with young girls, get slapped by his mother and then go on the lam in Mexico.

You don’t have to worry about Getty though. He’ll be fine without his gig at “Brothers and Sisters”. He is in line to inherit his great-grandfather, Jean Paul Getty’s, multi-billion dollar fortune from the Getty Oil Company.

Much akin to Lost, Desperate Housewives is another widely popular show that’s had a great run and should be beginning to wind down soon. Originally I started following the show only because my girlfriend is a big fan, but admittedly I’ve been sucked in and count myself as a loyal audience viewer. If you’re looking for some season 5 spoilers, I’ve been snooping around to see what I can pull up. As these are spoilers I can’t guarantee their accuracy, but you’ll find out one way or the other when the episodes air in November, eh?

From what I’ve gathered, episode six of season five is entitled “There’s Always a Woman” and will revolve around one of the Scavo teens being on lockdown and unable to join a friend for some partying and drinking. Susan also goes to Jackson’s apartment after they recently broke up only to find a naked woman in his apartment, leading to an argument about Jackson’s true identity. An older woman wants Carlos to be his personal massage therapist while she vacations in Europe for two months, and she’s willing to pay top dollar, so Gabby is all for the trip. After some time, however, she may change her mind once she discover’s the woman’s true intentions.

Episode seven of season five is called “What More do I need” and will involve Tom and Lynette discovering that someone has been stealing from the cash box. The culprit is apparently taking the money to buy pot, and offers to return the money in exchange for their silence. As one might expect however, there’s more to the story and there’s likely to be some blackmail involved somewhere along the way.

Episode eight of season five will prove to be one of the most exciting episodes yet, with a fire raging through the town and a daring rescue that leaves a hero in the reluctant spot light. Susan and Julie have an extensive conversation about their respective boyfriends as well. Julie’s older boyfriend ends up alone with Susan and asks her what she thinks about the relationship exactly. This is all well and good right up until she finds out that he’s been married three times and is considering a fourth. A woman pretends to be the Solises’ kids’ grandmother and then has the baby sitter leave the kids under her care.

Episode nine of season five is a little hazy ond etails, but revolves around a good-looking plastic surgeon who happens to be gay and his boyfriend wants him to meet the family.

I think that’s enough to keep us fans going for the time being eh? I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for more details on upcoming episodes.

Desperate Housewives reached a milestone with its 90th episode yesterday. The show which became so popular it even spawned a reality tv show is on its 5th season. The episode which premiered on ABC yesterday “Kids Ain’t Like Everybody Else” followed Danielle who returned to Wisteria Lane to visitor her husband and son. Lynette also returns home to find out about the garage band that Dave created after she specifically told him not to.

The episode was really well received and scored a 9.3 on the rating system at TV.com. The show seems to be off to a very strong 5th season and I think die hard fans and new comers to the show will agree that we are in for quite a ride this season.

During the flash-forward at the end of the season 4 finale, we learned that Bree will be promoting a new cookbook, Dylan will be getting ready for her wedding, Susan will be hooked up with a new man and Lynette, as usual, will be trying to take control of her not-so-perfect children.

With a lot to look forward to in Desperate Housewives Season 5, we can anticipate flashbacks and even more chaos on Wisteria Lane. Moreover, according to rumors circulating around the Web, we can expect another steamy affair, a shocking accident that will land Tom in the hospital, a big change at Scavo’s restaurant and many more surprises!

In addition to the upcoming surprises and chaos in the 24 new episodes of Desperate Housewives, we’ll have some new faces to look forward to: Porter Scavo will be played by Charles Carver; Max Carver will take over the role of Preston Scavo; the role of Parker Scavo will be played by Joshua Moore; Kendall Applegate will step up and assume the role of Penny Scavo; award-winning actor Neal McDonough will emerge as Dave; and Mason Gale Cotton will play the role of MJ Delfino, Susan and Mike’s son. What’s more, Dana Delany will return as Katherine Mayfair.

Desperate Housewives had went through a slight slump and lost some viewers, but last season the show managed to go back to the formula that allowed it to become a household name in the first place. It is an incredibly easy site to use and the only stop that most people will need to make when looking for Desperate Housewives episodes.

Bzz Tube is a good site to watch episodes of Desperate Housewives if you do not mind waiting quite some time for the episodes to load. It has a great selection of episodes and includes every season, and after the video finally loads, everything is fine and the video is able to play without glitches. However, the load time is a deterrent to many fans of the show.
