Despite the rumors that Alec Baldwin was hospitalized in New York City today, E! is reporting he is fine and was working on the set of 30 Rock all day.

Baldwin was rushed to New York’s Lennox Hill Hospital last night, but the situation was nothing more than a misunderstanding, according to the actor’s rep. “‘This was a misunderstanding on one person’s part,” the star’s rep, Matthew Hiltzik, tells E! News. “Alec was quickly released from the hospital, he’s completely fine and will be at work today.”

An unidentified source in law enforcement told the Associated Press that Baldwin threatened to take pills after a fight with his 14-year-old daughter Ireland. There was a 911 call made from Alec’s Central Park West apartment saying that the actor was unresponsive and that there may have been a possible drug or alcohol overdose. At the time, the caller was believed to be his daughter, Ireland.

Bladwin was treated at the hospital and released within an hour. “If there was any real issue or concern, he would not have been released from the hospital so quickly,” Hiltzik said.

FOX news is reporting that Ireland was not in New York City at the time and did not find her father incoherent.

Many of the winners at Saturday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards seemed very familiar. That’s probably because most of them won a Golden Globe just one week earlier.

For starters, Jeff Bridges won the Screen Actors Guild award for best actor for his role as an aging musician in Crazy Heart while Sandra Bullock won the SAG award for best actress for her portrayal of the real-life adoptive mother of a young man who goes on to become an NFL player in The Blind Side. And you guessed it, they both won the best actor and actress honors at the Golden Globes for just a week earlier.

In the best supporting actor and actress categories, Christopher Waltz repeated his Golden Globe win with a SAG for  his role as a Nazi in Inglourious Basterds. While Mo’Nique’s portrayal of an abusive mother in Precious earned her a SAG and Golden Globe as well.

The Globe for best actor in a TV drama went to Michael C Hall of Dexter as did the SAG in the same category. Julianna Margulies won best actress in a drama honors at both awards ceremonies for her hit series The Good Wife as well.

Kevin Bacon won both a SAG and Golden Globe for best actor in a TV movie or miniseries for the HBO drama Taking Chance while Drew Barrymore won for best actress in TV movie or miniseries for Grey Gardens.

Alec Baldwin of 30 Rock was also a double winner for best actor in a comedy series.

And finally, Glee and Mad Men also received a SAG and a Golden Globe for best comedy series/cast and best drama/cast respectively.

Its seems James Franco might be trying to make a move-from movies to TV. ABC announced last week that the “Spider-Man” star will be making a special appearance on “General Hospital” later this month.

Though this seems like a backwards move for an actor who has had a successful career on the big screen, I’m guessing its actually more of a favor to his manager who also happens to manage GH’s Steve Burton. Franco will play a mystery man who comes to Port Charles and causes problems for Jason Morgan (Burton). His role will play out over a two-month period starting November 20, though he is only scheduled to spend three days actually shooting his scenes in Los Angeles.

But that’s not the last we’ll of James on the small screen. He is also lined up to make a guest appearance on “30 Rock”. On the show, he will play Jenna’s fake boyfriend, a scheme concocted by their respective agents to get them both some much needed publicity.

Franco can be seen on the big screen next in “Date Night” which also co-stars Tina Fey as a wife trying to enjoy a night out with her husband (Steve Carell) when a case of mistaken identity turns their evening upside down. “Date Night” hits theaters April 9, 2010.

The 82nd Academy Awards will be hosted tag-team style by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.
Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman who producer the Oscars announced today that “the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars. Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event.”

Martin chimed in with, “I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin.” Baldwin added, “I don’t play the banjo but I’m thrilled to be hosting the Oscars — it’s the opportunity of a lifetime.”

This won’t be the first time the men have worked together. They co-star in the upcoming movie, It’s Complicated and Martin has guest strred with Baldwin on 30 Rock. That’s not all they have in common. They also rank No. 1 (Martin with 15 shows) and No. 2 (Baldwin with 14) for hosting Saturday Night Live the most times

Though this news may be exciting to Americans, Germans probably aren’t that impressed considering they could care less about Baldwin’s success on 30 Rock. The show’s premiere on German TV Sunday drew a 0.0 rating. That means less than 5,000 people tuned in.

The 82nd Academy Awards will be aired on ABC from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday, March 7.

As the fall season rolls on, we’re left with less and less new shows to look forward to. This week does offer the return of 30 Rock on Thursday night which I’m excited about. Next week was suppose to mark the season two premiere of the critically-acclaimed Southland but that was before NBC canceled it, announcing they would not air one of the new episodes already in the can.

Tina Fey and Steve Carell are making the most of their hiatuses from 30 Rock and The Office by teaming up for a new movie, Date Night. In the film, Tina and Steve play a married couple who get more than they bargained for when heading out for a night on the town.

Director Shawn Levy explained to Variety why the comedy duo was his first choice for the the film. “I wanted to do a relatable, grounded character comedy about marriage and the lengths we go to preserve the spark,” Levy said. “Tina and Steve are smart and relatable, and the tone of their comedy perfectly fits this film.”

The movie began filming a few weeks ago in Los Angeles but is now wrapping up in New York City. Last week, they filmed a brief night scene on on Broome St in NYC. Onlookers report that the couple turned onto Broome Street in a car and Carell then attempted to parallel park a number of times, before both of them exited the vehicle in the scene.

Tina and Steve aren’t the only TV stars in the movie, due in theaters next year. Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester reportedly plays their babysitter while That 70′s Show’s Mila Kunis and Saturday Night Live’s Kristen Wiig are also rumored to appear in the movie.

NBC announced their fall line-up today too. Of course, NBC’s new schedule revolves around the addition of The Jay Leno Show Monday through Friday at 10 PM EST.

Noticeably absent from the schedule are My Name Is Earl and Medium, both have been cancelled but may be picked up by ABC or CBS. It looks like the shows’ stars were as surprised as their fans to hear the news. This morning, My Name Is Earl star Ethan Suplee tweeted: “Just got the call that My Name Is Earl has been canceled. They sure did take their time with that decision or rather informing us of it.”

New shows on the network include a new paramedic show, Trauma, which will follow Heroes on Mondays, a new apocalypse show, Day One,will air Mondays at 9 p.m. beginning in February, Joel McHale’s Community, which will follow The Office on Thursday and Parenthood which will be on at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays in the fall before  Mercy takes over the time slot in mid season. Thursday night has notoriously been the night where the networks dispaly their best comedies and dramas. Tonight, ABC, CBS and NBC will air the season finales of their biggest hits in a knock down, drag down out fight for ratings.

CBS will air the season finale of their biggest hit, CSI, tonight which won’t have any major shake-ups in the cast but should satisfy long-time viewers, especially since they know the show will be back for a tenth season.

Over at ABC, the two hour season finale of Grey’s Anatomy will air to great fanfare with Izzie’s life hanging in the balance as she struggles with stage 4 cancer. Derek thinks he can cure her through surgery but there is a risk she will lose her memory. Its not the best time to lose all memory since she just married Alex, not to mention the surgery is risky. There are also rumors this will be the last episode with Dr. O’Malley as it is no secret T.R. Knight wants off the the show, badly.

On NBC, Amy Ryan returns to The Office, as Michael’s long lost love, but, unfortunately, it will b her last appearance on the show. Amy’s character will show up at the company picnic with a new hot boyfriend. You can imagine how Michael responds and hilarity ensures. On 30 Rock, Tina Fey rolls out the red carpet for a parade of guest stars including Alan Alda, Clay Aiken, Elvis Costello and Mary J. Blige. Is anyone else growing tired of 30 Rock’s big guest stars? “Special” guest stars aren’t so special when there is a new every week.

It seems like everyone is buzzing about Twitter these days. For those not in the know, Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that lets users send and read other users’ updates known as tweets. Mad Men star (and Liz Lemon’s latest love interest) Jon Hamm has joined the cast of Howl. The film chronicles the obscenity trial that ensued after the publication of Allen Ginsberg’s 1956 epic poem of the same name. Hamm is set to play defense attorney Jake Ehrlich who represented the poem’s publisher, City Lights Books, and eventually won the trial. Ehrilich was also the inspiration for the TV series Perry Mason. Hamm is joining an already impressive cast. Ginsberg is being played by James Franco, while Mary-Louise Parker, Jeff Daniels, David Strathairn, Treat Williams, Bob Balaban and Alessandro Nivola are also attached the to project.

Howl has been filming around New York City for nearly three weeks and there have already been quite a few sightings of Franco in character as Ginsberg. Locations thus far have included the upper east side of Manhattan and various locations throughout the Bronx. This week, they are filming at the Bronx Supreme Court, 851 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY, all week. There is no word on who will be filming at this location but it is safe to assume since Hamm is playing an attorney, he will probably show up in the courthouse scenes.
